Marist   School, Sunninghill,   has been rated ‘Excellent’ in all areas following a recent Inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).

Inspectors visited the independent Catholic day school for girls aged 2-18 with a co-ed Nursery between 30 November to 3 December 2021 to conduct a Focused Compliance Inspection combined with an Inspection of Educational Quality. The Educational Quality Inspection focuses on two key outcomes; the achievement of the pupils, including their academic development, and the personal development of the pupils, both of which were awarded the highest possible grading. The School also met all standards in the Compliance Inspection.

Independent review finds Royal Borough has made ‘good progress’ after positive shift in strategic leadership and culture

The Royal Borough has made “good progress” where needed as a council over recent years and also has a clear direction to strengthen further, thanks to a positive shift in strategic leadership and the culture of the organisation.

That’s the initial feedback from an independent Corporate Peer Challenge, completed last week, which saw the council invite an external team to interview councillors, staff, residents and external partners, as part of reviewing the council’s performance.

Councils have a Corporate Peer Challenge on a regular basis, organised free-of-charge via the Local Government Association, to provide a practitioner perspective and “critical friend” feedback to support ongoing improvement across the sector.

Public consultation to help finalise important strategy supporting victims of domestic abuse

Residents, community groups and partner organisations are invited to help finalise the Royal Borough’s strategy for providing safe accommodation and associated support for victims of domestic abuse.

The council is consulting on its draft Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation Strategy 2021-24, which sets out how safe accommodation and support for domestic abuse victims and their children will be provided over the period.

This follows initial engagement in order to assess local needs, involving feedback from victims and relevant partner organisations including The Dash Charity, the Domestic Abuse Forum, Thames Valley Police, and health and social care services.

Ascot Racecourse today announces plans for Royal Ascot (14th to 18th June) 2022, to reduce density and improve the customer experience.

As part of a long term ambition and following feedback from racegoers attending the smaller scale Royal Ascot in 2021, capacity numbers will be reduced across the Royal Enclosure, Queen Anne Enclosure and Windsor Enclosure for all five days of the Royal Meeting.

In the Royal Enclosure, capacity on each day will be reduced by 1,000 people while the Royal Enclosure Gardens will be extended, creating a new area for circulation next to the track.

Capacities for the Queen Anne and Windsor Enclosures will be reduced by 4,150 and 2,000 respectively and new facilities will be introduced.

QUEENS GREEN CANOPY

Schools plant trees to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum JubileeChildren from more than 30 schools across the Royal Borough have planted trees as part of an initiative to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this year.

The trees will form part of the Queen’s Green Canopy, a project which invites people from across the UK to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’.

The council offered a batch of small trees to all the borough’s schools, colleges and nurseries to mark the celebration. These were of mixed species, up to the value of £100, and were mainly native such as hawthorn, crab-apple, silver birch, field maple, holly, hornbeam, scots pine, wild cherry and rowan.

A total of 1,080 trees were supplied to 36 schools, colleges and nurseries and these were planted before Christmas, the majority in their grounds. The council placed the orders for them, taking account of the soil types for each site.

RBWM Cllr Stuart Carroll, Lead Member for Adult Social Care, Children Services and Health:

‘During the Christmas period, we experienced unprecedented demand for our lateral flow test (LFT) home test kits, as local pharmacies and GPs supplies were low due to the widespread prevalence of the Omicron variant. We distributed some 5,500 kits in this time.

‘With our stocks of home use LFT kits now depleted, we’ve sadly had to temporarily suspend our Community Collect scheme at our leisure centres while we await delivery confirmation of our next order.

‘Our LFT Assisted Testing site at Braywick Leisure Centre does however remain open as normal for all our residents, as we have a large supply of these tests. Details of this are on our website. We cannot hand out assisted testing LFTs for home use as they’re not designed for this purpose. However, care home, education, and NHS professionals can use assisted LFT kits at home, so we’re working with our partners to enable this and to minimise any disruption.
