Local dog photographer becomes the UK’s first certified Dog Photography Master | ASCOT, BERKSHIRE and PIVERONE, ITALY  (July 13th, 2021) – Millers Image Limited, the Ascot and Windsor based specialist dog photographers, announced today the official certification of Chris Miller as the UK’s first certified Dog Photography Master.  After six months of training, examination, and certification, Chris received his formal recognition from the Dog Photography School’s founder and Master, Claudio Piccoli.

"I want the people that attend my workshops to understand how huge the world is behind dog photography, especially dogs in action.  Every photo is a different story and I always put all of my energy in the shooting and in editing to make each dog as the best dog ever. I want all the people that will see the picture, to admire how amazing that dog is,” Piccoli said.

After delivering many workshops around the world, Piccoli decided to develop a curriculum for students to study and graduate as a Dog Photography Master.  With 30 different interactive lectures, he shared all of his experiences and secrets, with the sole objective of creating a cohort of Dog Photography Masters around the world.  The school launched in January 2021, and the first group are now graduating.  Chris Miller, who works with his wife Sue in Millers Image Limited, was confirmed by Piccoli as being the first in the UK to achieve the Master certification.

Bag it and bin it: Community Wardens appeal for community support to tackle dog-fouling

Please clean up after your dog: don’t risk a fine – that’s the clear reminder to the community from the council’s community wardens as the Royal Borough gets ready to celebrate local green spaces as part of Love Parks Week.

All public, open land across the borough is covered by a new legal order, known as a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO), meaning anyone caught allowing their dog to foul and not clearing up will get a £100 fixed penalty notice and risks a fine of up to £1,000 in the courts.

Over the coming weeks, the community wardens are speaking with dog walkers in local parks to remind everyone of their legal duty and the financial risks of breaking the rules, to explain how to report those who choose not to ‘bag it and bin it’, and to share ‘Top Dog Tips’ on how to ‘do walkies well’.

The PSPO also allows authorised officers to instruct a dog-owner to put their pet on a lead if it is loose and causing harassment, alarm and distress in a public space.

The law applies regardless of whether warning signage is in place.

All Borough’s libraries to stay open thanks to community partnerships |

All of the Royal Borough’s permanent library buildings, including Sunninghill,  are to remain open after a successful public consultation helped to identify opportunities to deliver services in partnership with communities.

The new plan will see the council working with parish councils, community groups, trusts and volunteers to deliver the popular service in a more resilient and sustainable way for the benefit of all residents.

The original proposals included potential closures, but the consultation made clear how much residents value the service and brought forward exciting and innovative solutions for keeping open all libraries in collaboration with the community.

Alternative income streams have been explored and sustainable funding options identified. Implementation will commence in October 2021 with the aim to be fully operational by April 2022.

Charters School in Sunningdale is raising funds to relocate its long and triple jump pit after damage was found in the existing facility. Tree roots have led to damage to the runway and pit, meaning that students at the school will not be able to take part in the two sports during the forthcoming athletics season.

Mr Wales, Head of PE at the school said, “Charters has a long tradition of introducing students into lifelong physical activity and sport through our excellent facilities. Unfortunately, we have been advised that the long & triple jump facility needs to be completely replaced. This is a huge loss to the school as long and triple jump are taught to all year groups in the PE curriculum and at least 50-60 students take part in these events each week in after-school clubs. Many students join Athletics clubs because of their positive experiences in PE lessons and we are proud that we play a part in this progression.”
