Charters School Year 13 Presentation Evening: The year group caught up with teachers, family and friends prior to the prize-giving and presentation of examination certificates.   As a cohort their results were excellent and the students should all be extremely proud of what they have achieved.  Ultimately the results are down to their hard work, but hopefully the support from their Tutors and subject teachers also helped them to achieve the best possible outcomes, in what was an incredibly difficult two years throughout the pandemic.

Guest speaker for the event was former student Josh Taylor; he completed his undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Italian at the University of Oxford last summer and is now studying for his Masters.  He spoke eloquently, encouraging students to make the most of every opportunity and to enjoy the uncertainty that change brings.

On December 16th, London Square - developer of has submitted revised plans for land south of Ascot High Street . The site would be accessed of Station Hill, beside the Fire Station. The Society for Ascot and Environs (SPAE) says that several improvements have been made but it still has 'serious concerns' regarding several fundamental aspects of the plan.

The deadline for objections  is only 13th January 2023.   Residents can e-mail  planning@rbmw.gov.uk - QUOTING REF 22/01971 IN THE EMAIL SUBJECT LINE.

Despite   improved proposals for a Community Building, a better market square and some improvements to the design details, SPAE feels that the key concerns have not been adequately addressed. For example, there are still only 124 spaces for 133 homes-  which would still create a density of nearly 50 dwellings per hectare. There would still only be six car park spaces for the commercial units, with none for the shoppers or visitors to the community building.

And the proposal would still see the loss of 46 out of the 115 trees (40%) - most of which are designated high or of moderate quality

Share your views on proposed council budget...

Residents, community groups and businesses are invited to take part in a public consultation on the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead’s draft budget proposals, which runs from today (Tuesday 13 December) until Tuesday 24 January.

The proposed budget for 2023/24 will allow the council to set a balanced budget while continuing to provide essential support to our most vulnerable residents and quality services for the whole community.

The current financial climate, of high inflation, interest rates and energy costs, alongside uncertainty around central government funding, ongoing impacts from the pandemic and pressure on reserves, has placed all councils under additional financial pressure.

Senior school students at award-winning, independent day and boarding school LVS Ascot located on London Road, performed an outstanding double bill production featuring a play and musical from the 8th of December through to the 10th of December at the fully equipped on-site theatre.

Auditions took part in September, with students dedicating a huge amount of time rehearsing at the weekends and after school ever since. A cast of over 30 students took part in the production and did a fantastic job learning and performing the original music played by the band. The phenomenal lighting and design for both shows was put together by sixth form students.
