Thames Hospice Statement:  We are all so deeply saddened by the news announced yesterday of the death of Her Majesty The Queen.

We are honoured to have welcomed The Queen, with her daughter HRH The Princess Royal, to open our new Hospice less than two months ago. It was to be one of her last public engagements and during her visit Her Majesty was so relaxed and clearly really enjoyed chatting to members of staff, volunteers, and one of our patients. She never stopped smiling throughout the visit, and unveiled a plaque commemorating the opening of our new facility.

On Monday 5th 2022 September the new Year 7 students began their first day at Charters School and after meeting their tutors and peers, were shown around the school by the Year 11 prefects. With all other year groups returning to the Sunningdale school the following day, it was the perfect environment in which to find their feet!

Before lunch the students visited the Freshers Fayre where they discovered the range of Extra Curricular Activities on offer at Charters.

Alongside the traditional Extra Curricular Activities that the students may have taken part in at their junior schools such as Football, Art and Drama, there were opportunities for the Year 7 students to sign up for Esperanza, Rugby, Japanese Language & Culture, Tennis, Chess & Challenge and Backstage Club amongst many, many others.
