Papplewick boys in Years 7 and 8 performed ‘Bugsy Malone’, from 29th November to 1st December for local schools, families and friends.

This gangster musical spoof, in which real guns are substituted by foam firing ‘splurge guns,’ is set in New York City in the early 1930s during prohibition. Rival gangs are vying for control of the nightclub scene and gun-smuggling, illicit alcohol production and a myriad other nefarious activities, associated with the New York gangster milieu, are in full swing!

The boys donned suits and fedoras, flapper dresses and cloche hats and had a lot of fun singing, dancing and acting out a stage version of Alan Parker's 1976 hit film.

Headmaster Tom Bunbury said: “Judging from the enthusiastic audiences and the generous applause, the show was a great success!”
