Heathfield is a vibrant, busy and inclusive community where girls thrive. We are focused on developing skilled individuals imbued with inner confidence, tenacity and a passion for life.

We provide an environment where a girl’s childhood will be happy and secure; where she has the opportunities to discover her unique passions and talents and accordingly, to develop self-belief and confidence to enable her to succeed. Life in the 21st century demands grit, resilience and adaptability. We are ambitious for our girls and our bespoke approach enables them to succeed in many different areas.

The construction of a new Sixth Form Centre is underway and will provide a large space for studying, presenting, mentorship, socialising and the development of soft skills.

We have high expectations for the academic outcomes of all our pupils, and they continue their journeys to top universities, art colleges, drama and music schools and career pathways both in the UK and abroad.

Alongside their peers across the country, the St George’s Upper Sixth girls have endured considerable disruption to their two year course of A Level study due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Amid enduring uncertainty, and extended periods of remote schooling, the girls approached independent study and assessment with maturity, enthusiasm and commitment throughout.

They should be exceptionally proud of their hard work throughout the course of the Sixth Form and the results that they are receiving today. Using internally and externally quality assured evidence from a number of assessments, 90% of A Level grades were awarded at A*-B, with 42% at the highest grade of A*. In addition the cohort completed impressive Extended Project Qualifications with 47% awarded A* and 42% A grades.

2021 A Level Results

Charters School is pleased to report some outstanding achievements by its students in their Key Stage 5 qualifications this summer.

A Level Headline Figures:

Number of A Level students: 181

This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.

Congratulations to all the students who gained the grades they need to progress onto the next stage of their education. 40 students gained straight A*/A grades across all the subjects they took with no student achieving anything less than an E grade across the whole cohort.

Students who studied BTEC qualifications also did very well with a significant number of Distinction and Distinction* outcomes. These outcomes alongside their A level outcomes have enabled them to progress to a range of universities.

The Royal School 175th Anniversary Victorian Summer Fayre was held on Saturday 29th June 2019, in Windsor Park.  Half of all the funds raised from the Fayre will go to Team Malawi to help build classrooms and allow access to education for children in Malawi.

Royal School Headmistress, Mrs Coombridge,   writes:  "In the last week of June 2019, The Royal School  celebrated 175 years since the building of the school!

It was 176 years ago that HRH Queen Victoria at the request of HRH Prince Albert decided that the children of the families in The Great Park, Windsor, should have access to quality education.  Over the next two years,The Royal Schools (one room for boys and one room for girls) was built.  The Royal School opened 37 years before free primary education was available for all children in England.

Today The Royal School is a voluntary aided school catering for the local community.  It makes great use of it’s fantastic setting within The Great Park.

The Royal School community have decided as part of the celebrations they will  make a difference to children who don’t have the easy access to education, consequently we are raising funds throughout our celebration to build classrooms in a school in Malawi.

Our celebration included a Victorian Fayre on Saturday 29th June 11am – 3.00pm. We hope that our anniversarycan bring great joy to our local community and the children of Malawi."
