 Papplewick School, Ascot SCHOLARSHIPS

PAPPLEWICK BOYS SUCCEED ONCE AGAIN IN SCHOLARSHIPS INCLUDING TWO KING'S SCHOLARSHIPS TO ETON COLLEGE (May 2021)

Despite a very 'unusual' year to say the least, the various trials and tribulations did not affect Papplewick boys' success in gaining scholarships to their chosen Senior Schools this term.  Enormous congratulations go to Jamie Pike and Andrew Zhang who have both won King’s Scholarships to Eton College, to Anthony Kim who has won an Academic Exhibition to Winchester College, to Viren Bhaika and John Ye who have both won Art Scholarships to Harrow School, and also to Seva Pospelov who has won an Art Scholarship to Tonbridge School.

Headmaster Tom Bunbury said, "It has felt wonderfully normal to be celebrating some scholarships once again here at Papplewick. We are hugely proud of the high standards that our boys reach"

As well as academic, sporting and cultural excellence, Papplewick aims to provide boys with the confidence and security they need to fulfil their potential, and the school strives to promote enthusiasm for life, contribution to the community and kindness to others amongst all its pupils.

A recent (2013) report by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) remarks that relationships between pupils and teachers: ‘are an outstanding strength of the school and are seminal in creating the strong sense of a mutually supportive and trusting community.’

On Tuesday 16th May 2017 boys and staff at Papplewick School in Ascot celebrated the school’s 70th anniversary with some memorable activities.

The boys gathered together a huge range of items to bury in a time capsule. They enjoyed ice-creams and a picnic tea which was followed by the school's biggest ever water fight between boys and staff.

Items that were placed in the time capsule included a copy of The Times - dated 16 May 2017; school ties - standard tie and Herpetology Club, (the school’s popular snake club); a school menu; Common Entrance Exam Papers; a wrist band - from the school’s 2017 Make A Wish sponsored walk; £5 notes and £1 coins and boys’ books including Beast Quest, Roald Dahl, Percy Jackson and Diary of Wimpy Kid.
