Hospice Launches THc Little Gardens with Guinness World Record Attempt
:  Nurses at Thames Hospicecare have joined hundreds of local residents and businesses to mark the Hospice's 25th anniversary by planting a very special THc Little Garden.

Samantha Galvin, Ursula Downs, Kate Sherif, and Anne Jones swapped thermometers and stethoscopes for watering cans, trowels and forks on Monday to plant a very special THC Little Garden at the Hospice.

Heatherwood Hospital, Ascot Heath School and Bracknell & Wokingham College, have so far all agreed to have gardens.

CLICK HERE The Hospice is publicising next year's celebrations by getting people this autumn to plant tulips right across East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. The gardens will start to bloom in Spring 2012, and many of them will be marked with a THc Little Garden plaque.

To give the campaign a fantastic launch the Hospice is attempting a Guinness World Record attempt for the most people planting flower bulbs simultaneously*. The record attempt will be made on Sunday 9th October at 3:00pm at Grovefield House Hotel, Taplow Common Road, Burnham SL1 8LP.

Amelia Slaughter, who is helping organise the THc Little Gardens, would like to hear from people who are free on the afternoon of the 9th to help the Hospice achieve the Guinness World Record attempt: "We need 700 people to break the current record. At the moment we have just over 150 people, so if you are free to come along on the 9th then do please contact me to let me know.

Why not invite family and friends to the record-breaking launch of our THc Little Gardens," said Amelia.

Amelia can be contacted at aslaughter@thameshospice.org or by calling 01753 848927.

Residents, schools, churches, councils and businesses across Berkshire have already purchased bulbs to plant their own THc Little Garden. Among those planting gardens are Bracknell & Wokingham College, South Hill Park, Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitals, and Waitrose.

If you would like to have your very own THC Little Garden, then bags (containing 10 bulbs) can be purchased by emailing Amelia or going to www.thameshospicecare.org.uk
