The hall was filled with students and proud parents. There were two musical items. Luke Riches (on guitar) & Georgina Smith (sang) performed ‘Over the Rainbow’ and Kashia Dobson played ‘I Giorni’ by Ludovico Einaudi on the piano.
Mr
Martyn Parker – Co-Headteacher said, "The GCSE Presentation Afternoon is
always an enjoyable occasion because, after the two years' hard slog of
GCSEs, the students can stand back and celebrate their achievements
with one another, their families and teachers. This year was
particularly satisfying as 94% of our students gained 5 or more A*-C
grades at GCSE, which indicates the achievement across the board and
provides them with the opportunities they need to select their future
pathways."
Special awards were presented to:
Katie McKinnon & Jamie Wiles (joint cup winners) - The Dame Marcia
Twelftree Cup for highest achievement at GCSE achieving 13A* and 1 A
Olivia Banfield – The Helen Farnon Cup (Business Studies)
Callum Heavens – The Durham Shield (Design Technology)
