On Thursday 3rd March, Charters School in Sunningdale hosted an Art Exhibition to showcase the work produced by students from Years 7, 8 and 9. The Exhibition displayed a wide selection of the students’ art work which included self-portraits, masks, 3D models and block printing, using a variety of materials and techniques.

Continuing to forge strong links with the wider community, the school welcomed residents from Lynwood Village in Sunninghill and Sunrise Senior Living in Virginia Water to view the Exhibition on Thursday afternoon. Sixth Form student Luke Smith played the school’s grand piano while the guests viewed the artwork and they were then served with tea and cake which made the whole event that little bit special.

Students also visited the exhibition during the school day and parents and School Governors were invited to attend in the evening. The exhibition was very well attended at all times and received rave reviews.

Mrs Nancy Lee Wragg, subject Leader for Art and Design said, ‘The pupils’ art work shows considerable talent and dedication. The Art department is really proud of what has been achieved and we look forward to working with a lot of these young people in the future – there’s a lot of potential. Well done to everyone involved in putting this lovely show of work together.’

Examples of the students' work will be available to view through the Art Department pinterest on the school's website
