Millers Image Limited, the Ascot and Windsor based specialist dog photographer, announced today that Chris Miller is the UK’s first certified pet loss grief specialist with One Last Network. Miller is a dog photographer serving Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and Sussex by creating beautiful photographs and artwork of humans with their best fur friends. He is proud to be a platinum member of One Last Network, which features a podcast for pet guardians and trains pet photographers to be a better service provider to those pet owners whose pets are in their senior years or have received a terminal diagnosis. “Many of my clients come to me in need of end-of-life photography, whether it’s for a Rainbow Bridge or Legacy Memory Session,” says Miller. “As a certified pet loss grief specialist, I can deliver photography that celebrates the life of their dog and now also help connect them to a local network of additional professionals to help them on their personal grief journeys.”

Through its podcast and photographer training, One Last Network endeavours to normalize pet loss grief so that no pet owner ever again hears the words “it was just a dog,” or at least knows what to do when they do hear them. Founded by Angela Schneider of Big White Dog Photography in Spokane, Washington, One Last Network trains its member photographers to support their clients through storytelling. A long-time journalist who became a certified grief coach following the death of her mother last year, Schneider says the stories humans have of their pets can bring great comfort in the days
without their companion animals.
“When we lose a loved one or pet, we're left longing for a feeling of any connection to them – remembering the touch of their fur, the click-clack of too long nails on the ceramic floor, the photos,” Schneider says. “The stories behind those memories keep us connected to our pets even after they’ve left our physical world.”
The podcast, which is centred on discussions around pet loss grief, grief research and care of our aging pets, releases episodes every two weeks. Member pet photographers gain access to a community portal where they share thoughts on end-of-life pet photography. Schneider adds “We are pleased to see Chris complete his certification with One Last Network and help support UK dog owners as they prepare for the loss of their dog.”
“Loss happens to everyone and losing a dog can be a particularly difficult event,” Miller says. “Our Dogs give us so much while they’re here with us: unconditional love, companionship,
comfort and so much more. By having a better understanding of the various stages of grief for my clients who are facing the loss of their dog, I can help them to honour the love they shared and to create a world where their grief is more accepted.”
As is often the way, many dog lovers have hundreds of photos on their phones, but it’s sadly after they cross the Rainbow Bridge that they realise just how few of them are of the owners with their dog, showing that bond and special love for each other. Miller adds “We believe that every dog lover deserves permanent memories of their dog being themselves, capturing that unique unconditional love for each other. We have the care,
patience, and creativity to deliver that with every session. For those that need it, we will help create “One Last Magical Adventure” for the dog owner and their dog.”
