It is currently an extremely challenging time for many people and Charters School in Sunningdale recently launched an initiative to support their most vulnerable families during the current cost of living crisis.

The School  asked its wider community to donate towards the  ‘Charters Essential Parcels’ scheme, so that they could create parcels of store cupboard staples that will include: pasta, rice, cereal, pasta sauce, soup, beans, tinned meat, fish, vegetables and fruit, tea bags, coffee, deodorant, toilet roll, soap and soap powder for those in need.

Mrs Henly, Deputy Headteacher in charge of coordinating the project said  “The support and generosity of the Charters community was overwhelming, with a staggering £4727.50  raised in just a few days.  We are a true Comprehensive and our cohort reflects pockets of deprivation throughout all year groups. We  would like to sincerely thank all those who have supported this campaign, the kindness of the community really will make a difference to our families in need.”
