Once again, Rotary Club of Ascot (RCA) has brought new Young Chefs to the eye of the local populace. On the evening of January 18th 2023, LVS AscotLuckley House School and Easthampstead Park School joined with RCA to test our local culinary talent in the 2023 Young Chef competition, hosted by the LVS Ascot.

RCA President Bob Oliver produced the forward-thinking drive to re-invigorate Young Chef activities after almost three years absence due to the pandemic. The three schools above participated with LVS providing the venue for this year's wonderful competition. Five competitors took part. These were Zara Chambers from LVS, Luca Tranquilini-Ferraz at Luckley House, Maddy Vietz at Luckley House, Esther Hine at Easthampstead Park School and Milly Bushell at EPS.

The food that was produced was truly amazing and well beyond the level that was expected of students between 11-17 years. This year, RCA was honoured to have Mr. Daniel Lee, Executive Chef from Seasons Restaurant, Sunningdale as the professional Chef Judge. His huge experience and kindness brought the stimulus and encouragement to our future chefs in the Ascot area. Originally Head Chef at the Brasserie, Pennyhill Park and now Executive Chef at Seasons, Daniel brings much needed support to to charities like Macmillan and now Rotary.

The competition was eagerly fought and, at the end of the evening, we had two well deserving chefs to reward. First was Zara Chambers with a wonderful spinach and gruyere quiche and salted caramel profiteroles and secondly, Luca Tranquilini-Ferraz who produced a sumptuous pumpkin ravioli followed by an orange pudding.
