On Wednesday 9th June, Charters School in Sunningdale was visited by two working drugs dogs who walked around the school site with their handlers and interacted with students from all year groups.

The initiative, which was organised by the school’s Safeguarding Team, acts as a deterrent for students who may be tempted by illegal substances and is part of a wider programme to educate students about the subject and the impacts that drugs can have on individuals.

Mr John Fletcher, Headteacher at Charters School said, “The visit is part of our ongoing drugs education programme and safeguarding work across all year groups.  We are pleased to say that the dogs did not indicate any issues that concern us as a school community.  We will remain vigilant to the harm that drugs can have on individuals and work with families and outside agencies to support individuals and keep our school environment safe for all.”
