Given the current situation we are monitoring what the Government advises and will post here exact times of any tours/open events.

A Senior Open Evening is held in the Autumn term.  There is a presentation from the Principal along with a tour of the school by our older girls with interactive activities throughout the school.  This gives you and your daughter a chance to see and speak to subject teachers and have a taste of the subjects taught.  This year it will be a virtual tour with live Q&As from the Principal.

Open Mornings are held in the Spring and Summer term for the both the Prep and Senior Phase. They start with a short presentation from the Principal and are followed with a tour of the school by our current girls. At the end of the tour, the key staff members will be on hand to answer any queries you have be it on the curriculum or bus routes.

Taster Day is for current Year 5 girls to spend the day in the Senior Phase experiencing school life.  This is hugely popular and has a limited number of places. Priority is given to girls who have registered and paid their registration fee.

Sixth Form Options Evening takes place in the Autumn term and is open to anyone interested in registering for the Sixth Form.  There is a talk from the Director of Sixth Form and a chance to talk to subject teachers about the AS and A Level syllabus for their subject.

We will happily arrange a tour at a time to suit you if you are unable to attend our next open event.

INDIVIDUAL SCHOOL TOURS

Socially- distanced tours of the school with the opportunity to meet with either our Principal or Vice Principal Preparatory Phase or we can use Teams if you would prefer to meet virtually.

The Jumps season returns to Ascot with a bang, as one of the region’s biggest fireworks displays follows a thrilling afternoon’s racing featuring the £100,000 Sodexo Gold Cup Chase.

In addition to the racing, plenty of fun may be found away from the track, with free fairground rides including both high-adrenaline attractions for teenage thrillseekers and gentler ones for younger racegoers. Children can also enjoy face painting, roaming entertainers, arts and crafts, and even a pop-up cinema screening a classic family favourite in Ascot’s Pavilion along with soft seating, drinks and popcorn.

After racing, a breathtaking pyromusical show will see over 20,000 fireworks fired from the centre of the racecourse to light up the skyline and bring the curtain down on a spectacular family day out.

Fireworks only tickets are also available, granting access into the racecourse from 4pm onwards, with the display due to begin at 6pm. Please note, fairground rides will cost £1 per ride after this time, with all proceeds going to charity.

Borough Local Plan progresses to next stage | The emerging Borough Local Plan is moving a step closer to delivery, with a second round of public hearing sessions arranged for October and November this year.

The public hearing sessions will consider a range of matters and issues including the plan’s spatial strategy, future housing provision and the policy framework for specific site allocations.

The Borough Local Plan is being examined by an independent planning inspector, Mrs Louise Phillips, who conducted a first round of public hearing sessions in June 2018. Following these hearing sessions, we were asked to address a number of issues highlighted by the inspector, which involved consulting with residents and businesses on proposed revisions to the plan and updating supporting documents. This process was completed in late 2019.

Following on from this, the inspector reviewed the proposed revisions to the plan and the comments received from residents and businesses, and in June this year, issued a series of questions to guide and inform the discussion at the second round of public hearings. Along with a range of interested parties, we responded to the inspector’s questions in writing, and having reviewed these responses, the inspector will prepare an agenda for each of the forthcoming hearing sessions.

Politics and Pastimes: Decoration on Printed Fans in the 18th Century  7.45pm Tuesday 10th November 2020 (please join from 7.30 onwards)

Printed fans were a popular option in the eighteenth century and were enjoyed by ‘ladies of quality down to kitchen maids.’  The leaves of printed fans were decorated with an especially wide variety of subjects.  Jacob Moss will tell us about the subjects which decorated their pleated leaves conveying the spirit of the age and laying bare its quirks and conventions.

Jacob has a postgraduate degree in Fashion Curation from London College of Fashion and in 2010 took up a position as Museum Curator, The Fan Museum, Greenwich; the UK’s only Museum dedicated to the history of fans and the craft of fan making.
