A team of dedicated residents are participating in planning the future growth in our area and great progress is being made to date.
The Housing and Environment Group are tackling issues such as balancing the need for housing against maintaining green spaces and village identities. Respecting the existing Townscape Assessment in the provision of mixed housing types, whilst protecting the natural environment, landscape flora & fauna and wildlife corridors.
We are asking local employers to tell us how the economy of the area can be developed in the next 10 years. Members of the Economy Group are talking to leading business leaders on growth and sustainable employment opportunities.
How do we balance the safety of pedestrians and cyclists when there is a lack of public transport and high car usage? Our roads and villages have become congested and parking is a problem in our narrow Victorian & Edwardian villages. These are some of the issues the Transport and Infrastructure Group are tackling.
The Community Group are looking at the provision of leisure facilities, health and education requirements for all age groups going forward, in relation to identified community needs.
Devolution of power to local communities has given local residents and Parish Councils a voice in shaping the development of this area over the next decade, creating a ‘vision for the future’. It is exciting groundbreaking legislation and you can share in defining it!
Charles Appleby, Co -Chairman of the Steering Group added, “we are working to develop a vision for Ascot Sunninghill and Sunningdale for the next 10 years. The next stage will be to share this vision with the community and invite feedback during Spring of this year”.
