GMB TO UNDERTAKE CONSULTATIVE BALLOT OF MEMBERS AT FRIMLEY HEALTH NHS FOUNDATION TRUST IN ATTEMPT TO HALT TRUST PLANS TO PRIVATISE NON CLINICAL SERVICES
"Our members joined the NHS to carry out a public service role, not to assist some profit making organisation says GMB Southern
GMB are to undertake a Consultative Ballot of members at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust (FHFT) with the aim of halting trust plans to privatise non clinical services at Frimley Park, Heatherwood and Wexham Park hospitals.
GMB announced on August 8th that they will be writing to Chief Exec Neil Dardis and Privatisation Lead Director of Human Resources and Corporate Services Janet King, who is purported to be the first Chief Exec of the WOS to inform them that GMB are to carry out a consultative ballot to gauge the views of non-clinical staff over the possibility of taking Industrial action to protect their future within the NHS.
GMB’s campaign to halt the creation by FHFT of a stand-alone wholly owned subsidiary as a means to the privatisation, of around 1000 housekeeping and cleaning services, porters, security, and catering amongst others, across the Trust’s three hospital sites has seen growing opposition to the only for profit proposal as concerned staff have contacted the union and their on-site workplace reps on a daily basis seeking advice and support over the stressful uncertainty over their future.
The consultative ballot which will open on August 14th, will afford GMB members at Frimley, Wexham and Heatherwood hospitals the opportunity to have their say on the potential of taking direct action in defence of their jobs and to remain solely within the NHS.

Hundreds of local residents enjoyed the OUTDOOR Cordes Hall Cinema on Saturday13th July 2019. This superb community event , organised by the team which brings us the monthly Cordes Hall Cinema, was held in the field behind the St. Michael's Church,  Sunninghill.  Prosecco corks popped and the crowd picnicked until dusk fell and Bohemian Rhapsody began - a truly great film which had the audience singing along. It was a magical setting, with the almost- full moon as background. The atmosphere was such, it felt like being part of the Live Aid crowd at Wembley in 1985! The sharper-eyed members of the audience will also have noticed the International Space Station passing overhead . Truly an evening with something for everyone and  a significant sum of money will have been raised to continue the excellent renovations at the much-loved Cordes Hall!

The Cordes Hall Cinema will be back next summer but, meanwhile the next Cordes Hall Cinema will be on September 7th. CLICK HERE

Ascot Brass a 30 piece concert Brass Band, who are now in their 14th successful year. It is a registered charity and perform many concerts for good causes. However, the band members have agreed it is time to be putting on their own concerts, with selected soloists, and excellent choirs, and so  are exploring the best method of seeking a single sponsor or a number of sponsors. Naturally, maximum exposure would be in evidence at each concert.

Any individuals, or companies that enjoy the sound of a good brass band, and can help  with this objective, please email malcolmbrown605@gmail.com   to discuss its potential.
