GET CRAFTY WITH THE LEXICON’S LATEST STORE ARRIVAL| The Lexicon and Bracknell Forest Council is delighted to announce that Craft Coop, a social enterprise business, will be opening its doors in Princess Square next month.

Being a social enterprise business, also known as a community interest company, Craft Coop was set-up specifically to benefit and involve the local community.

It’s arrival will provide shoppers at The Lexicon with a hand-made giftshop and community space. It will also give local artisans and craftspeople the opportunity to showcase and sell their wares to more people.

This will be Craft Coop’s fifth store and the team are keen to hear from Bracknell Forest artists, jewellers, potters, homeware creators, card makers, painters, pet accessory craftspeople to join their crafting community.

Director of Craft Coop, Heidi Berry, says: “We’re so excited about opening our doors in Bracknell.  We pride ourselves on the relationships we develop and the communities we work, play and craft with!”

In addition to being a ‘handmade gift-shop with a social mission’, Craft Coop will also be offering a programme of workshops where people can learn more about individual crafts.

Rob Morris, general manager at the Lexicon says: “We’re delighted to welcome Craft Coop to The Lexicon.  With the local community at the centre of its business, it is sure to be popular with local craftspeople and shoppers.”

Susan Halliwell, Chief Executive, Bracknell Forest Council: “We were keen to encourage a community-driven organisation such as Craft Coop to The Lexicon. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund gave us the opportunity to bring this to the town centre. This shop will give local artists a stepping stone into retail as well as offer access to fun activities for shoppers.”

If you or someone you know is an interested crafter or artisan who wants to sell and become part of a nurturing crafting community, please email craftcoopbracknell@gmail.com for more information.

About Craft Coop:

As a Community Interest Company, Craft Coop is an award-winning series of shops which support local artists and craftspeople by providing vibrant Town Centre environments where they can sell their handcrafted products.  Over 100 makers are currently represented across the four existing shops (in Maidenhead, Camberley, High Wycombe and Windsor)  and customers find a range of unique products including jewellery, textiles, ceramics and homeware.

A unique feature of Craft Coop is that the makers of the products all help out in the shop, so visitors are likely to meet the person who actually created the product. More information visit www.craftcoop.co.uk .
