Sunninghill and Ascot parish Council is seeking the views of residents on the proposed new community building - which could be part of the Ascot High Street redevelopment ( see Ascot Centre Development Brief ).

Proposals for the redevelopment of Ascot High Street include a community building which will be located beside the central piazza.

  • What facilities the building should provide?
  • What activities it should include?

Sunninghill & Ascot Parish Council has already spoken to community groups, students at Charters School, mothers with young children and members of the public who attended the consultation event, held at Ascot Racecourse on 22 May.The responses so far have been positive: Suggestions for activities that could be held in the community building include dance/ exercise classes, performing arts space, parent/toddler groups, social clubs and Rainbow/Brownies/Cubs & Scouts.

SAPC is  looking to create a flexible venue that will serve the needs of as many users as possible. It is currently proposed that the building will include a large hall that can be adapted for a range of different uses, as well as smaller meeting rooms also available for hire. These rooms are likely to be situated on the 1st floor of the new building, with inclusive access.

Together residents have the opportunity to shape the design of these facilities and your perspective will help us determine how the new building might best be adapted for current and future needs. Therefore, we really want to hear your thoughts on the facilities this building should offer.
