On Wednesday, Charters School welcomed back former student, Carl Maine, for the opening of The Maine Centre, a building on the school site which has been extended and refurbished and will act as a pastoral hub, thanks to a generous donation from Carl.  Co-Headteacher, Richard Pilgrim said, “The Maine Centre will allow us to work more closely with groups of students and their parents, in order to provide essential support covering a range of services.  Additionally, it will allow us to develop some new and innovative courses to add to our wide-ranging curriculum and it can also be let out on evenings and weekends as a community facility, alongside our new 3G Astroturf.  We are extremely grateful to Carl for his generosity and continuing support of the school”.
Carl Maine said, “I have been very lucky in my career and a lot of that is due to the start I received at Charters – I am delighted to be able to give something back”.
