You will be welcome to  join 21 other teams who will be bring much fun and excitement to Sunninghill and in the process assist raising monies for some great causes:

Completed entry forms and can be emailed to robinpickup@hotmail.com with late entry fees being paid on the day.

There will be keen competition to carry off the coveted trophies for Fastest Times, (Men, Women and Mixed), Best Fancy Dress and Most Sponsorship Money Raised.  Prizes will also be awarded to winning individuals.  The Race is organised by the Rotary Club of Ascot, and the Local Community. The major sponsor this year is De Vere Venues and the race raises vital funds for the Ascot District Day Centre.

The competition is normally diverse, with teams of men, women, mixed and families participating.

Now is the time to enter a team.  Contact Robin Pickup on 01344 430035 or email robinpickup@hotmail.com as soon as possible.

Please note that for Safety reasons No Animals are allowed.

The aim of the race is for teams of four (men, women, children or mixed) to push a wheelbarrow with one of their number in it, around the marshalled course of just 1 mile.  Along the way there are four stopping points, including three pubs and one other ‘fuelling’ station, where each member drinks either a ½ pint of beer, soft drink or water.

Teams should be given a name and one member must be over 18.  Anyone under 18 is only allowed to participate on the strict understanding that he or she is only allowed to drink soft drinks or water, and identification may be sought by the publicans or marshals.

In order to qualify for the fastest team prizes, the wheelbarrow must be the traditional type with just one wheel. Those teams that have more than one wheel may of course enter and qualify for the Best Fancy Dress or Most Sponsorship Raised prizes.

The GOOD NEWS is that any drink consumed during the race by the participants is FREE!

This is a charity function, organised with the support of the Rotary Club of Ascot, with an entrance fee of only £20 per team (after 30th November, £30), non-refundable – to go towards the sponsorship. Entrants are asked to obtain as much sponsorship as possible, which will form part of the donation to the Ascot District Day Centre.

After the event, the participants and their supporters are invited to gather at the Carpenters Arms for a snack from the Hog Roast and further drinks. There will be an Auction and a Raffle with superb prizes and presentation of the Race prizes and Certificates.

If you’re unable to take part, why not come along and cheer on the teams!
