The Creative Arts Faculty at Charters School has a rich back catalogue of knock-out school productions, and this week the Sunningdale school was delighted to welcome back audiences for the first time since before the pandemic.

More than 100 students from Years 8 to 13 took part in Legally Blonde the Musical, which played to a packed house for four performances from 24th November 2021.

The cast began rehearsing in September to become the well-loved characters from the Reese Witherspoon classic, learning not just lines but also energetic dance routines and a highly sophisticated musical score.

Students at the Sunningdale school are encouraged to become involved in all areas of extra-curricular life and the show enabled students to experience not only the creative arts, but also the roles of sound and lighting technicians.

Mrs Georgina Ring, Head of Drama who also directed the show, was extremely proud of the entire cast and crew, saying “‘After two years without being able to run productions, we wanted to come back with a bang and the students have absolutely delivered! They have worked tirelessly during rehearsals to bring their characters to life, to perfect their songs and to master the choreography. As well as the cast on stage, we have students playing in the orchestra, operating the lighting, sound and managing backstage. This really is a whole school effort displaying the amazing talent that we have here at Charters School – I am so proud to be a part of it”
