The Windsor Platinum Jubilee Committee is delighted to announce the latest news regarding local events in Windsor for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
A Jubilee schools’ week will be held in  week commencing 23rd May, where  school children can take part in various activities across the Royal Borough in celebration of the Jubilee. Details to be announced before for the end of the year.
The Jubilee Bank Holiday will begin on Thursday 2nd June in the evening with the lighting of the Windsor beacon, as part of the National lighting event.

On Friday there will be a concert in St George’s Chapel, followed by events on the Long Walk on both the Saturday and Sunday. Saturday will be a carnival atmosphere with cars, music, sport and activities from across the decades of Her Majesty’s reign. On Sunday the Big Picnic will be held with long tables along the length of the Long Walk. Everyone is invited to these events, where it will also be possible to view other National Jubilee celebrations on our giant screens.
The Committee is raising funds to create a wonderful legacy for the Jubilee in the town, in the form of a water fountain. This will celebrate the reign of HM The Queen and will provide fresh drinking water for the community and our visitors, thereby reducing single use plastics, helping to protect our precious environment.
The latest details were unveiled at a reception hosted by Sir James and Lady Perowne
Graham Barker, Chair of the Committee, thanked the Honorary Vice Presidents, Committee members and our generous donors for their contributions to this wonderful cause. Everyone is looking forward to a special year in Windsor for the local community to enjoy.
