Voluntary organisations can benefit from council cash boost|
Grant funding of £100,000 is available from the council to support voluntary organisations in the Royal Borough.
The 2021/22 voluntary organisations funding scheme is now open for applications from non-profit making voluntary organisations seeking financial help with items such as running costs, equipment, transport, administration, premises hire, building projects, one-off events, staffing costs and training.
The deadline to apply is Thursday 1st April 2021. The grants panel will make its decision on Tuesday 11th May 2021.
Applications are considered in the following categories:...
· revenue grants – to help an organisation’s annual running expenses or towards addressing specific issues identified by communities and their residents
· capital grants – made towards schemes such as the purchase of land or equipment or extensions to buildings
· Kidwells Park Trust grants – to provide facilities for recreation and cultural activity
- '3' Community Grassroots Fund - provides grant funding to small voluntary and community groups and organisations enabling them to continue or expand their work, including advocacy and service provision
To be successful, applications will be required to clearly outline the expected benefits for residents and communities against the priorities below, particularly in terms of supporting COVID-19 recovery projects in the borough:
- Healthy skilled and independent residents
- Safe and vibrant communities
- An excellent customer experience
- Growing economy, affordable housing
- Attractive, well-connected borough
- Well managed resources delivering value for money
Councillor David Hilton, lead member for finance, said: “This year has been particularly tough financially for all the voluntary organisations that provide a vital service to our residents and who do great work in our communities, and we want to continue helping them.
“We value the important work they do and I have nothing but praise for the residents who choose to give up their time and put many hours of hard work into making the areas in which they live a better place for everyone.
“We welcome applications from all groups. We would especially like to hear from new organisations or initiatives that have not previously taken the opportunity to apply for funding from the Royal Borough.”
Last year, the Adult Dyslexia Centre in Maidenhead received a grant of £1,500 from the council towards funding a helpline, while Windsor & Eton District Scout Council was awarded £3,000 towards its building improvement project.
