RingGo chosen as new cashless parking provider |  RingGo, the UK’s leading phone parking provider, is taking over cashless parking in all Royal Borough managed car parks from Thursday 20th August.

Like Parkmobile, who previously provided this service, RingGo lets users pay for parking using their mobile phone, rather than having to use the car park payment machines.

A free mobile app lets you select the car park you are using and pay with your credit or debit card, and you can also call or pay online. This is especially important in light of COVID-19 as it gives motorists the option to avoid handling cash and touching payment machines.

This change comes as Parkmobile remove their service from the UK at the end of August.

Cllr David Cannon, lead member for public protection and parking, says “It’s great to be moving to RingGo as our new phone parking supplier. The service is already offered in Reading, Guildford and Elmbridge, as well as several other nearby local authorities, which means motorists are more likely to already use RingGo, minimising the number of different apps our customers need to have on their phone.

“Being able to pay without cash is good for all of us as it limits the amount of surfaces we touch with the ongoing pandemic, and the prices are the same as if you were using our parking machines.”

Instructions on how to pay for parking with RingGo will be displayed in all car parks and more details can be found online at: https://myringgo.co.uk/.

Anyone who has not previously used RingGo should download the RingGo app and complete their registration in advance, to ensure they can park quickly and easily.

We understand that for some residents and visitors, paying in this way isn’t practicable, so there is still the option to pay with cash for anyone who needs it.
