FROM WCDP (WINDSOR COMMUNITY DEFIRBILLATOR PARTNERSHIP) The new defibrillators just keep flowing……..

The WCDP is a group made up of local volunteer community organisations Windsor St George Rotary Club, Windsor Street Angels, The Town Partnership, Thames Valley Police and Windsor Lions and its mission is to install Automated External Debrillators (AEDs) around Windsor.

Since the first placement in November 2017 the group has successfully installed 14 AEDs around the centre of the town and plans to install more during 2020 to ensure full coverage.  Apart from merely installing the equipment the WCDP operate a guardianship program of regular inspections and monitors the condition of the Automated External Defibrillators that has been installed. To date five AED’s have been primed ready for deployment but fortunately none has yet had to be used due to the arrival of an ambulance or other paramedics.

Many local businesses, groups and individuals have sponsored or funded AEDs including Waitrose, Rotary, Lions, Street Angels,The Royal Borough,  Windsor Christian Action based at Dedworth Green Baptist Church and 5 by the Shanly Foundation.

Speaking of the project, Town Centre Manager, Paul Roach said ‘ We are really delighted with what we have achieved to date but there is more to do: what we would like to concentrate on in the upcoming year is installing AEDs on the routes into Windsor so that the whole town is comprehensively covered.’
