LVS | Ascot
The Licensed Victuallers’ School in Ascot is a unique co-educational independent day and boarding school for 900 pupils aged rising 5 to 18, whose history stretches back 200 years. HM The Queen is our patron.
LVS aims to develop caring, confident citizens, fulfilling the academic potential of every student and encouraging the development of the whole person.
The school commands a 26 acre site with purpose built accommodation, which includes 4 boarding houses, 8 specialist laboratories, a magnificent theatre with its state-of-the-art sound and light systems, indoor swimming pool, sports hall and movement/dance studio and medical centre. A newly opened Performing Arts Centre provides superb facilities for Music and Drama. Our new Sixth Form Centre ensures that the best available resources are in place for our 150 Post-16 students.
The school offers a broad academic programme based firmly on the requirements of the National Curriculum, but with the added feature of a wide range of GCSE, A Level and Applied options, catering for each individual pupil’s strengths. All our pupils benefit from the very favourable teacher/pupil ratio. Courses, from the age of 11, are set according to ability with 6 to 7 sets per year group in the senior school.
An extensive range of activities and extra-curricular clubs and societies operate at lunch times, after school and, for our boarding community, in the evening and at weekends, thus enabling our pupils to achieve in areas outside the classroom whatever their age or interests.
