The purpose-built setting, the Barn, ensures the children in Early Years at hall Grove are given all the care, guidance and encouragement needed to develop as individuals whilst following their own interests at their own pace.

During their time spent in Pre-School and Reception, your child will follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, achieving the Early Years Learning Goals by the end of Reception. Their learning is enriched with educational visits, themed days and visitors to the school. They also have weekly specialist sessions in Dance, PE, Music and French. The curriculum is highly practical, making use of both the indoor and outdoor classrooms and an outdoor area.

There is one class in Pre-School led by a qualified teacher, Helen Solomon. Reception is made up of two classes both led by qualified teachers. All Early Years Teachers are supported by teaching assistants.

The Barn opens at 8.15am for early arrivals, with registration at 9am. Pre-School children can stay for a half-day finishing at 12noon or a full day finishing at 3pm. The school day for Reception children runs from 8.15am to 3.10pm.
