The Hope Trust's entry in the Sunninghill New Year Fancy Dress Wheelbarrow Race 2020, was designed to promote a Sponsored Walk, to be undertaken by the Trust in August this year. Training walks have commenced! Already 20 participants have signed up to walk from Cowes to Cowes – hence the costumes!

The ferry was designed to replicate a Red Funnel Ferry, which will transport the walkers from Southampton To Cowes; The chief executive of Red Funnel Ferries has very kindly offered to sponsor the Hope  Trust ; hence the superb model of the 'Cowes Castl' ferry, complete with roll on roll off lorries,  which cruised to victory in the Wheelbarrow Race 'BEst Fancy Dress' competition. The 'cows' will be staying at The Garlic Farm, near Sandown on the Isle of Wight, which has lots of accommodation, including Yurts!!

There will be a dedicated sponsorship page set up in due course but, meanwhile, to find out more about The Sunningdale The Hope Trust , donations and further information can be found at www.thehopetrust.org

There is a great selection of further photos on the Hope Trust Facebook page

As a local charity, the Hope Trust's aim is to sponsor community activities and to provide help and assistance to those in immediate or urgent need in Sunningdale, Sunninghill and the neighbouring Parishes.

Fund raising events have included a Burns Night (see 'Addressing the Haggis', below),  The Sunningdale Duathlon,- The Sunningdale Prom Night and Jazz Night and a Coast to Coast Walk (See 'Coast to Coast', pictured below)

The funds raised by these events are used to provide help and assistance to individuals and other community groups in need of financial support in and around Sunningdale and its neighbouring parishes. The community events are broad in scope, including music, drama, exhibitions and recreation.

The events are targeted widely to involve the whole community. The monies raised are used to stage, promote and advertise the events effectively. Funds arel also be used to provide help and assistance to the needy in the area and to make donations and awards to other local organisations with similar aims as the Hope Trust, a recent example being a contribution to the refurbishment of the Sunningdale Pre School small hall and garden

The Hope Trust visited Charters School on Thursday 28th November 2018, to see the difference their generous donation has made to the life of one of the Sunningdale School’s students.

Year 10 student, Saad Kiyani, recently took delivery of a tray for his wheelchair which was made possible by a donation from the Sunningdale based charity. The tray will increase Saad’s independence, enabling him to use his laptop, read and eat with increasing ease.  He is currently sitting his mock exams prior to taking his GCSEs in the summer.

The Sunningdale Hope Trust is a registered charity set up to provide help and assistance to individuals and community organisations in Sunningdale, Sunninghill, Ascot and the surrounding areas.

Jacqui Sassi, Deputy SENCO, said, “we are lucky to work closely with the Trust who have helped support many of our students and their families with compassion and discretion.”

Saad said “Thank you, it has really helped me in my day to day life – it’s fantastic!”
