SUNNINGDALE HEATH GOLF CLUB - 'A Hidden Jewel'

The golf course,  founded Mr Edward Ernest Villiers, offers a unique golfing experience for golfers of all abilities.

Sunningdale Heath welcomes Ladies, Gentlemen & Juniors. 18 Holes in  two to three hours.  Par 58 & Par 61 for  Ladies, making it the perfect course for a busy lifestyle.

The course, currently measuring 3705 yards (do not let this figure deflect you!), is located in very attractive quintessentially British countryside and is described by golfing legend Peter Alliss, as being 'Quite Magical.”

Perfectly proportioned, but smaller, as a test of golf, it is challenging for everyone.

Members can participate in regular competitions , events and socials but the course is also often free for play without pre- booking a tee time.

There is a small practice net and putting green, as well the independent  Ultimate Golf Studio, adjacent to the clubhouse.

One recently-joined member commented: "Joining Sunningdale Heath couldn't have been easier and members have made me extremely welcome. It is the friendliest club I have ever belonged to and the course is great fun.  I particularly enjoy the relaxed atmosphere underlain by excellent organisation .   I am confident that my golf will improve now I'm a member. The homely, sunny clubhouse is an asset too; there is a great chef who does lovely homemade snacks and light lunches . There's also a bar and I'm looking forward to the forthcoming social events.  "

2018 - 2019 CAPTAINS' CHARITY FUNDRAISING

A short cheque presentation ceremony was held in the Members' Lounge at Sunningdale Heath Golf Club, on Tuesday May 14th. Last year's Captains, Ann Devetta and Les Beard, presented a volunteer from the Woking and Sam Beare Hospices, with a cheque for £5,000 - thanks to money raised by the Captains' Charities over the past year.

The volunteer said that the charity is extremely grateful for this large donation, as they rely on charitable fundraising to do their vital work. Notwithstanding such generous support, they have recently had to request donations from patients in order to balance the books.  The Hospice - 80% of whose services he said, are provided in the patients' own homes, with a further 20% being for in-patients, provides support for those with life limiting illnesses and their families. The area covered by the Hospice comprises 360,000 people
