ASCOT ORGAN and KEYBOARD CLUB is a friendly club that meets monthly. It holds a mixture of professional and amateur nights and the occasional charity evening. This not only raises money for good causes, but also promotes the club. The club tries to give younger artistes just starting on the circuit a chance as well as the old favourites. As you will see from our concert diary they have a good selection of top artistes covering many styles of music. Refreshments are included in the entrance fee so why not go along and hear some of the best professional organists play - or just listen to some of the local talent you didn't know existed!

Quite a few of our members have their own organs or keyboards. All try to help each other where possible, and encourage each other to play at our amateur evenings, when players can bring along their own instruments (organs by prior arrangement with the Chairman) or play the club organ, a Technics GA1. A light hearted competition is held annually and a cup presented to the most improved player. The club is always glad to welcome amateur players to show off their talents. Their family, friends and all those wishing to have an evening of live music in friendly surroundings are also welcome at all meetings. This includes members of other clubs who are visiting the area.

In July the club holds a summer social with a fish & chip supper and a very relaxed atmosphere. This gives members who have not played before the chance to "have-a-go" with less pressure.

The club usually meets on the third Friday of the month at 8pm.

Windsor SpeakersEveryone is a bit afraid of speaking in groups or in public, some just hide it better than others! Do you think it would be a good thing if you were able to speak more confidently or improve your skills?
There’s a safe place you can achieve this and learn to become a better speaker, expressing yourself more freely and feeling in control rather than the other way round.

Windsor Speakers is a ‘non-profit’ club that meets two evenings a month where members get to practice and improve their public speaking in an organised, safe and supportive environment. It’s part of the Toastmasters International organisation that has over one million members worldwide.

We have all walks of life from housewives to business people to tradesmen to students. Ranging from accomplished speakers to absolute beginners.

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday every month at Gardeners Hall, 213 St Leonards Road, Windsor SL4 3DR. If this is something you might be interested in then pop along one evening to take a look and see what it’s all about. You’d be welcomed.

The War Horse Memorial is the first national memorial dedicated to the millions of UK, Allied and Commonwealth horses, mules and donkeys lost during The Great War. It pays tribute to the nobility, courage, unyielding loyalty and immeasurable contribution these animals played in giving us the freedom of democracy we all enjoy today, and signifies the last time the horse would be used on a mass scale in modern warfare.

The War Horse Memorial is located on the major Ascot roundabout opposite Heatherwood Hospital and Car Park 1 of Ascot Racecourse. Postcode: SL5 8AA.

The Memorial will form a catalyst for an on-going fundraising campaign to support military and equine charities after all memorial costs are paid. The principal beneficiaries will be The Household Cavalry Foundation and the Mane Chance Sanctuary. Other complementary charities will also be supported.
