AWBS is a social and philanthropic club whose goal is to support and encourage our members as they engage with our community. Whether you are a returning member or a new member, I am certain this year will provide many fun and rewarding opportunities for you.

We are a volunteer-run organization, and each member's participation is essential to our club's success. There are so many opportunities to get involved in both leadership and assisting roles. Please consider where you can contribute.

AWBS is a great resource for new members, providing support and helpful tips for your transition period. Area Welcome Buddies are a big help, serving as someone to touch base with when you need some advice. Additionally, our Welcome Coffees are another fun opportunity to meet other new and existing members in your area.

The American Women of Berkshire and Surrey meet at Great Fosters   Stroude Road, Egham TW20 9UR

Here are some of the popular activities and groups, please follow the link to the activities page for more information and upcoming dates.

BOOK CLUB: Book Club meets once a month. The only requirement is a love of books and a commitment to read the book being discussed. There is no charge and no full year commitment. Book Club takes place during the day around lunch time.

BRIDGE: Learn to play bridge in a non-threatening fun setting with other AWBS members.

MAHJONG: Mahjong is easily learned yet can be difficult to master! We play every week in the home of one of our members.

COUNTRY WALKS: We are just steps away from some of the most stunning scenery in the United Kingdom with miles of paths, criss–crossing the landscape, making all areas of this charming country accessible. Walks vary from 3 to 6 miles and are typically once a month, September through May.

GLORIOUS TOWNS, HOUSES AND  GARDENS

Join us as we discover local unique treasures hidden in our towns, historic houses, hotels and gardens.

LOVE LONDON
Informative and educational walking tours led by a tour guide followed by lunch once a month in different London neighborhoods. Sometimes the focus will be a geographic location, other times, a particular subject matter within London.

This delicious food related activity will include activities such as high tea experiences, food foraging, food history and tours, cookery courses, jam-making, and more! YUM!

ENGLISH HISTORY

GREEN TEAM:
In line with the FAWCO focus on the Environment, the AWBS Green Team meets monthly (more or less) to share ideas of how to live more sustainably and to learn more about how to minimise our environmental impact. Sometimes we arrange workshops and activities such as litter picks and visits to regenerative farming initiatives. Any enquiries or ideas, please contact Rosie Deane

TRIPS AND TOURS
Join a constantly changing mix of women who get together to travel in the UK and abroad, explore, shop, and above all, have fun.
