St Martin’s church vision is to celebrate the Christian faith through worship in gentle and friendly fellowship. The variety of style offered enables the church to accommodate every age group and, with the Spirit’s guidance, strive to strengthen our own faith and bring others through the teaching of the Scriptures to an active belief in the Lord. This small and simple Victorian church is in the middle of the village of Chavey Down, with a Hall which is used for a variety of community and church activities. Its services are based on the Common Worship service. Church address: Church Road, Chavey Down, Ascot, SL5 8RR Website: www.winkfieldandcranbourne.org.uk
At St Peter's church we aim to be a united fellowship, honouring Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit sharing the love of God in our daily lives. We exist to demonstrate the love of God within our community, help all people find opportunities to share Christ’s love and develop the devotional life and spiritual gifts of believers by the power of the Holy Spirit.
This Victorian church lies near the edge of Windsor Great Park. It has recently been restored and re-ordered following a major fire. The re‑ordering has improved access for the less mobile, and includes sound and projection facilities. It is suitable for community events during the week as well as for Sunday services in a variety of styles. Its notable small Father Willis organ was destroyed in the fire, and has been replaced by a fine modern organ by Peter Collins.
St Mary's church provides an opportunity for people of all ages to worship in a traditional but friendly atmosphere. We use the 1662 Book of Common Prayer at our Morning Prayer and Communion services and take our readings from the King James version of the Bible. Weekly Family Praise service at 9.30am is modern and informal. The aim is to ‘bridge the gap’ between our modern family worship and our more traditional other services. We will guard the truth, lift up the name of Jesus without fear and ensure that, in times to come, everyone will be able to worship in our beautiful building The ancient church building has stood on its present site in the heart of Winkfield for at least 700 years. It is famous for its unusual oak pillars along the centre of the aisle, one given to the Church by Elizabeth 1st.
