SHAPE UP AND HAVE FUN with new fitness classes in Sunninghill, Ascot. From September there will be a new class on offer, Freestyle Fitness Yoga (FFY) – a conditioning programme that incorporates deep stretch, strength and yoga postures to modern music. FFY has been developed over 10 years - it is a contemporary approach to an ancient format and is based on the basic principles of fitness. As such it is not a spiritual experience - it mimics yoga in its breathing, focus and style offering postures that endorse strength and stability. There are no Sanskrit terms as postures are prescribed from the body’s natural anatomical perspective. Anyone taking part in an FFY class can expect to improve their flexibility greatly in 8 weeks. The programme is also excellent for toning all muscle groups.
Valerie Keir has been teaching private aerobic and conditioning classes in Ascot for several years – she has recently qualified as an FFYoga instructor and will start teaching classes at Cordes Hall, Sunninghill in September every Thursday from 09.30am – 10.30am (first class is 9th September). These classes are suitable for all ages and abilities, no experience is required. There is no need to book, £5 per class, pay as you come. Valerie also offers an Aerotone class (hi/lo aerobics focusing on legs, bums and tums) on Mondays at Cordes Hall 09.30am – 10.30am. For more information contact Val on 07871 564 640 or email
