Simon Mayo inspires Papplewick boys with new book:   Radio 2 presenter Simon Mayo visited Papplewick School in Ascot on Tuesday, 24 April, to talk about his debut novel, Itch, and to sign books for the boys.

Itch is the story of a 14 year-old boy and keen scientist who has discovered a very unusual and unique rock.  Nobody has seen this rock before and Itch (short for Itchingham) is drawn into a great adventure as he tries to keep the rock from those who want it most.

Papplewick was buzzing with excitement during Simon’s visit and for many boys the highlight of the event was when he used an “app” to bring the cover of the book alive.

“The buzz continued throughout the day as the boys started to read their newly signed books,” said Tom Bunbury, Headmaster. “Simon really sparked their imaginations.”
