Dan Harris who has been heading up the local ‘Kotch Club’ in Ascot announced to the Charters School Year 9 and Year 10 pupils that the club has been rebranded and is now called ‘The Venue’ and will be based each Friday evening during term time at 7.30pm in the Ascot Community Room at Ascot Racecourse except on race days.

‘Kotch Club’ has been a successful club where teenagers could meet up with their friends in a safe environment.  To keep on trend with teenagers it was felt that the name change to ‘The Venue’ would revitalise the club and attract new teenagers.

The club is all about giving youngsters a safe place to hang out, and at the same time having a bit of structure engaging the teenagers on the issues of self-esteem, confidence, friendship issues etc.  Therefore, Dan introduced Oliver Wilson a Motivational Life Coach from ‘The Biz’ who will be working alongside Dan at ‘The Venue’ on these life changing aspects.

Dan said “The Venue will be a safe and friendly place for the teenagers to meet each week during term time and we are really grateful to Ascot Racecourse for use of the Ascot Community Room for the club.  We are also very pleased to have Oliver share his life changing experiences and ideas with the teenagers.”

Oliver Wilson ex British Boxing Champion (light middle weight) will show how the non-contact sport exercise of Box fusion can help teenagers to feel good about them and this in turn raises self-esteem and confidence in other areas of their lives.  Oliver, a former professional boxer and Hollywood stuntman who has been in the Hollywood Blockbusters – Batman Begins, Johnny English and Harry Potter to name a few, he also Played Samuel L Jackson’s stunt double in two Star Wars movies.

Oliver said, “After a successful career in the sport of boxing, it’s time for me to give something back and for the last 15 years I have been involved with young people in the community using my experience to help them achieve their goals and ambitions.”
