Opening of Wren Bariatric Unit at St Peter’s Hospital: On Monday 6th February the Trust will be officially opening its new dedicated bariatric unit, Wren (Weight Reduction, Endocrine and Nutrition), at St Peter’s Hospital. Since September 2011, with the expansion of the bariatric team under Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon Mr Samer Humadi, the Trust has been able to offer the full range of weight loss surgery including gastric bypass and gastric sleeve procedures. The new unit has been purpose built for bariatric patients ensuring that appropriate space and equipment is in place to support patients with post-operative recovery. Local dignitaries, patients and staff have been invited and the event will be led by Trust Chairman Aileen McLeish and The Mayor of Runnymede, Councillor David Parr.
