Hurst Lodge School | Outstanding | OFSTED

Hurst Lodge School, Ascot is delighted to announce it has received an “Outstanding” rating from OFSTED in addition to its glowing Independent Schools Inspectorate Report in May.  The Principal, Victoria Smit said “we are absolutely thrilled”. OFSTED recognizes that Hurst Lodge is a non selective school and that the diverse academic ability of pupils supports how this school values individual contribution and celebrates difference. In addition to praising our academic achievements, where Early Years Pupils are set to exceed the EYFS goals and Senior students achieve an average of between 8 and 11 GCSE’s and three A levels,  the reports state that the school is a nurturing environment where pastoral care is exceptional.

Strong personal development is cited as a noticeable characteristic of the pupils throughout the School and the reports praise the students’ high moral standards. Pupils also recognize that they are part of a community and are strongly influenced by its desire to cherish personal values. It notes that as they mature, pupils grow into the school’s ethos, treasuring the world around them.  Miss Smit said, “as a staff we thoroughly enjoy working at Hurst Lodge, the students are a pleasure to teach and we are excited about the future and the school’s further development”.
