Papplewick Pupils in Driving Seat at Honda
At the beginning of July, Papplewick’s Year 8 boys were taken on a visit to The Honda Institute in Colnbrook, Slough, where they got to sit in a variety of vehicles – including Honda's 2007 Formula One car, as driven by Jenson Button.
During the tour, the boys were shown the training that Honda gives to its apprentices, were given a Powerpoint presentation on how Honda’s founder, Soichiro Honda, established the company and they also found out more about the special Honda philosophy. The boys were able to be ‘hands-on’ with cars, motorcycles and power equipment - and the trip climaxed with the boys experiencing a controlled air bag explosion!
Nigel Ramage, Head of English at Papplewick, said: “We had a fantastic visit – the boys really enjoyed themselves. We’re hoping we can do it again with Year 8 pupils next year.”
