Janet Brewer, Head of Fundraising for ADCCT added:  “Nicky and her team all worked incredibly hard to put together a very special event at Ascot Racecourse, and we are delighted to have received such a fantastic contribution to our funds, as we work to build Berkshire’s first children’s hospice.  We cannot thank the Ascot Charitable Trust enough for their much valued support.”

Ascot Charitable Trust held a magnificent event on Saturday evening at Ascot Racecourse in aid of ParalympicsGB, Alexander Devine Children’s Cancer Trust and Children with Special Needs Foundation.

The evening started with a Caribbean steel band and a superb rum punch and the Caribbean dancing girls caused a sensation. The drinks reception was followed by a three course meal during which The Three Waiters gave a fantastic performance. By the end of their show stopping act, the audience were waving their napkins in the air and cheering for more.

The Acting High Commissioner for Trinidad & Tobago attended and also the Trinidad & Tobago Development Company Ltd, ACT’s main sponsors. Mr & Mrs Rudolph Walker also joined the event, which was supported by Sir Cliff Richard’s Organisation, Tony Hadley, British Airways, Cadbury’s, RI-Wine, Anya Hindmarch, Sophie Christiansen and Coutts & Co, to name but a few.

Peter Marshall, ex Miss World presenter, producer and journalist, compèred the evening. The Main Auction was led by Russ Williams, award winning comedian and auctioneer and included items such as Seven Nights at the Coco Reef Resort in Tobago including Club World flights, a Pele framed and mounted signed Football Shirt including a Pele and Bobby Moore framed photo, a display case with David Beckham signed football boots and a half day with Sophie Christiansen and her trainer plus many more.

The night continued with dancing, a silent Auction and a Prize Draw. ACT hopes to have met their target of £50,000 once again.

Nicky Pardo, ACT Chair, said this amazing event would not have been possible without the invaluable support of their main sponsors, their Patrons, the three charities and all the businesses and organisations, who collectively made the evening an overwhelming success. Huge thanks must also go to the ACT Committee, who worked tirelessly over many months to put together this outstanding charity event.
