Ten Top Scholarships Won at Papplewick

papplewick prep school scholars, 2010Papplewick comes up trumps again with ten top scholarships won: Pupils at Papplewick, the boys’ independent preparatory school in Ascot, have triumphed once again by winning ten scholarships this year to top independent senior schools.

The boys, many of them from the local area, are set to attend schools including Harrow, Wellington, Stowe and Charterhouse, and the scholarships range from a Top Academic Scholarship (Caspar Whitehead, going to Stowe), to Exhibitions for  Excellence in Sport (William Benjamin from Ascot, going to Wellington College, and Clark Thorley, from Windsor, also going to Wellington College).
Headmaster Tom Bunbury said: “We’re delighted to achieve, once again, such a good number of scholarships – now totalling 32 in the last three years!  Congratulations to all our scholars, and we wish them all the best of luck in their new schools.”

Grandparents go back to school with Papplewick boys

Grandparents Day at Papplewick School, Ascot, was a great success last Saturday, when the sun shone brightly and the grannies and grandads arrived to see their excited grandsons – parents strictly not allowed (apart from acting as chauffeurs for the day!)

After admiring the school’s wonderful art and design display over coffee, everyone took their seats for a Variety Concert, followed by a short service in the school’s Chapel. The boys took much pride in showing their grandparents their classrooms and all the school facilities together with their work in different subjects, and after an excellent barbecue lunch in the garden, all enjoyed watching house cricket matches in the sunshine.
