Tesco to Open in Ascot High St. in 5 Weeks

Work is now under way to redevelop the former Bathroom World premises in Ascot High Street. Notices have been erected announcing that Tesco will open there in 5 weeks ( early June).

The Royal Borough has granted planning permission a new shopfront (ref: 10/00408), one internally-illuminated fascia sign and two internally illuminated hanging signs (ref: 10/00407). . Sunninghill and Ascot Parish Council had expressed 'concerns' about both applications. Planning permission has been refused for an ATM machine (ref: 10/00410); the Parish Council had lodged 'objections'.  Notices of an application for a licence have also been posted.

Meanwhile, Sunninghill and Ascot Parish Council is due to discuss a planning application for change of use, at Berkshire House, 39 Ascot High Street, to a coffee shop (mixed A1/A3 use) with external seating. The application rerefence number is 10/00699 (Full).  The discussion will be at the Parish Council Planning Committee meeting on Tuesday, May 11, 7pm at the Ascot Day Centre in Bagshot Road, Sunninghill.
