Pheasant Takes up Residence in Ascot
For the last week a pheasant has taken up residence in an Ascot Matters reader’s garden in Ascot. She has obviously decided that, in the increasing urbanisation of this part of Berkshire, Ascot still provides a degree of tranquillity and safety.
“We thought that this was just a flying(sic) visit, but each morning and evening she emerges from her hiding place to feed” says reader (name withheld to ensure privacy). “She provides a welcome addition to the normal population of jays, woodpeckers, robins, a variety of tits, and other birds.”
