Sunninghill Man Running for Asthma UK PDF Print

Sunninghill's Nick Turnbull will be facing the challenge of a lifetime when he takes part in the 2010 London Marathon to help raise funds for Asthma UK

The 29 year old, manager of Sunninghill based Specialist Travel will be helping to raise vital funds to improve health and well-being of the 5.2 million people with asthma in the UK. Nick himself was diagnosed with asthma 25 years ago but after shedding over 3 stone in weight he has decided not to let his asthma stop him from training and running the marathon. Nick says “This is my first London Marathon and the training regime is a challenge in itself but one that I am focused and motivated to beat. Having asthma myself I know first hand how it affects people’s lives – thankfully my asthma is now under control and my training has so far been unhampered. However fundraising for Asthma UK is important to me, as I know the effects that it has on their lives. My target for this year is to raise £1,500. If you would like to sponsor Nick or make a donation, please visit www.justgiving.com/nick-turnbull0 or donations can be made in person at Specialist Travel on Sunninghill High Street.

1 in 12 people have asthma so if you don’t have asthma, you will probably know someone who has. The money raised from the London Marathon will fund further research to help understand more about the causes of asthma and to help free people with asthma from its effects.

Asthma UK is the charity dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the 5.2 million people in the UK whose lives are affected by asthma
