Duke of Edinburgh - Guest of Honour in Ascot PDF Print

mayors charity ballThe Royal Borough Mayor’s Charity Ball on Saturday 13 March  at Ascot Racecourse, is to be a royal occasion, with the news that HRH The Duke of Edinburgh has kindly agreed to be the guest of honour.

Mayor Cllr Jesse Grey said: “I am absolutely thrilled that The Duke has accepted my invitation to attend. The ball already promised to be a highlight of my year of office but this news is the icing on the cake. I feel sure that The Duke and indeed everyone attending will be delighted with the evening’s programme and that we will raise a considerable amount for the five charities to benefit from the proceeds of the evening.”

Half of the ball’s proceeds will be donated to the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research and the remaining 50% will be shared between Thames Valley Hospicecare, WAMDSAD, the Alexander Devine Children’s Cancer Trust and Help for Heroes.

Venue for the black tie event is The Pavilion, Ascot Racecourse, and the evening will feature:
•    a champage reception
•    dinner with wine (and accompanying music)
•    a sparkling cabaret
•    the Mayor’s raffle, including a top prize of dinner, bed and breakfast at the Harte & Garter Hotel & Spa
•    charity auction for fabulous prizes
•    after-dinner dancing.

The Mayor added: “We are working very hard to ensure that everyone attending the ball will have a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable evening.”
