HMS Pinafore Sails Again at Papplewick PDF Print

HMS Pinafore at Papplewick in Ascot Papplewick School, Ascot, has just pulled off another musical success with 43 members of an all boy cast plunging into the briny of Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘HMS Pinafore.’  Sir Joseph, (Caspar Whitehead) a well spoken ‘Ruler of the Queen’s Navee’ is betrothed to Josephine (Will Lord) the daughter of Captain Corcoran (Alex Spiteri), who wants to have a cabinet minister as his son-in-law.

Things go awry when Josephine falls for Ralph, a jacktar on her father’s ship.  Clark Thorley, at his charming best, acted with gusto as the hearthrob Ralph.  Emil Calder, as a show-stopping Buttercup, marries Captain Corcoran when Ralph and Josephine enter into marital bliss.

The strong story, super set and excellent singing from the Papplewick boys gave HMS Pinafore a great send off on Thursday 3rd, Friday 4th and Saturday 5th December
