Ascot Freegle - Helping Ascot Residents & the Environemnt

Ascot Freegle is an amzing local group,  offering a great opportunity to find what you want for free, offload unwanted items, while helping the environment - all for free.

The group, formerly Ascot Freecycle, has separateed from the Ascot branch of Freecycle and was founded 13 months ago and already has 1,100 members. It is staffed by volunteer moderators. Ascot founder and Moderator, Paul Thompson, says that the idea is to keep useful goods out of landfill. By doing this, the Government is saved £8million in landfill costs, not to mention the many millions, contributed by volunteer labour.  He says that the benefits are enjoyed by a wide cross section of society and the goods on offer cover all categories: "Perhaps one of the more unusual items supplied was a shed for homing bees!".
