Value for Valour - Ascot Racecourse

Value for Valour Value for Valour (V4V), launched by Ronnie Wilkiie at Ascot Racecourse earlier this year ( click on http://www.ascotmatters.co.uk/community/39-community/193-value-for-valour-launch-at-ascot to see earlier article about this) , continues to help British services personnel and their families to  enjoy outings to some of the country’s top events, with its discount tickets.  Ascot Racecourse is proving a very popular V4V venue, as a secure environment to bring a spouse for free. Children go free anyway, making the whole day very affordable .
A recent spin off of V4V’s  was  the recent Visiting Heroes at Ascot Racecourse. Regimental sergeant majors had been asked to return to their units and  seek nominations for Unsung Heroes. The result was Ronnie Wilkie playing host in a Royal Enclosure, box to five privates who had been awarded temporary membership for the day. The heroes included a 22 year old, field hospital nurse, who had lain on top of her patient to protect him form mortar fire, sustaining serious back injuries as a  result.
