Bishop of Reading's Presentation to Betty Stebbings
The Bishop of Reading, the Right Revd Stephen Cottrell, made a visit to All Saints Church, Ascot Heath during Royal Ascot on Ladies’ Day.

Back in 1984 two All Saints’ parishioners decided to serve sandwiches, tea and cakes to race goers from the newly built church hall. Out of this simple ‘offering of hospitality’ another tradition was established and every year since All Saints’ parishioners have generously given of their time to extend a warm welcome to thousands of racing visitors. Each race day up to 100 cars are safely parked, there is a restful picnic area to enjoy and a licensed buffet restaurant fortifies visitors before they take the short 3 minute walk to the course. When the fun is over visitors can return to enjoy a relaxing tea before their journey home.
Betty Stebbings was one of those parishioners, and this year celebrates 25 years of offering hospitality. Bishop Stephen presented Betty with a card signed by volunteers and guests. Betty also received a bouquet of flowers given by her fellow volunteers.
