Beware of Brick Burglars!

An AscotMatters reader was surprised to awake on the first morning of Royal Ascot, to discover that a row of bricks had been dug up from their driveway in Geffers Ride. An incident report about this inexplicable crime  was lodged with the local police. But the family was mystified as to why someone spent some considerable time in the wee small hours (and creating some noise)  - chipping out a row of bricks set in concrete. (They weren't gold bricks!).
Still puzzled, the reader's husband was searching along the road  for a clue and found a house close by, with a very expensive car on the drive, propped up on all four corners on a pile of bricks (the missing bricks) minus its very, very expensive wheels! Mystery solved - resourceful, but badly - prepared thieves! Witnesses are asked to call the non emergency police number  0845 8505 505.
